About OPSC-
The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is the state agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level appointments to the various civil services of Odisha.
The recommendations of the Royal Commission on superior services in India, 1949 are referred to in short as the Lee Commission. They were added to the Constitution of India as Articles 315 to 323. OPSC was constituted on April 1, 1949, after its bifurcation from the former Bihar and Odisha Joint Public Service Commission. At the time of creation, the Odisha Public Service Commission had three members, including a chairman. The membership increased to five in 1979 and further increased to six in 1996.

Selection Process of OPSC 2019:
It is based on objective type is written test(90%) and viva voce test (10%).
90 percentage of Written test :
The written test consists of Paper I & Paper II.Each papers will be conducted for 3 hours.
Paper-I:
The paper I is objective type consists of 180 questions and each question carry 1 marks.
- Theory of Machines: 30 Questions
- Machine Design: 30 Questions
- Mechanics of Solids: 30 Questions
- Engineering Materials: 30 Questions
- Manufacturing Science: 30Questions
- Manufacturing Management: 30 Questions
Paper-II
The paper I is objective type consists of 180 questions and each question carry 1 marks.
- Thermodynamics Cycles-10 Questions
- I.C. Engines, Fuels and Combustion-30 Questions
- Heat Transfer, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning-60 Questions
- Fluid Mechanics-40 Questions
- Fluid Machineries and Power Plants-40 Questions
Application Fees: Rs 500 (SC/ST/PWD are exempted)
Payment Mode: Only SBI Challan
Exam Centres:
The written exam will be held at Cuttack. It may also be held at Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Berhampur, and Sambalpur depending on the number of applicants from the respective zone.
